Health literacy is the ability to understand and communicate effectively with health care providers and the health care system.  Health literacy includes understanding insurance, communicating well during office visits, and understanding the treatment plan including medications.

Low health literacy can impact people of all ages, genders, races, ethnic backgrounds, income and education levels. Low health literacy contributes to disparities in health outcomes and increased health care costs.

We offer health and healthcare education programs for multicultural communities. Topics include:
